Rainstick Trading

Starting from humble beginnings selling from a stall in Camden Market, Rainstick Trading has now grown to be a Fair Trade wholesale organisation importing goods from 15 countries.  

Named after its first product (originating in South America, a rainstick  is a long, hollow tube partially filled with small pebbles or beans making a sound reminiscent of rain falling when the tube is upended.), although not a certified company, Rainstick has established relationships with a number of small artisan family and cooperative suppliers following the principles of fair trade.

It is loyal and reasonable in all its dealings with developing suppliers, helping them to understand the export market where possible. It seeks to work together with suppliers to build long term relationships that are both financially and materially sustainable.  Specialising in hand mde items, it does not buy from large factories and sources most of its goods from developing countries especially in Africa and South America but also Asia.
